Whirlpool Bathtubs - Plano Plumber

There really is no great Plano plumbing mystery about a jetted or whirlpool tub. It’s basically a regular tub that circulates air and water through the tub to create a massage or whirlpool effect. That said, the whirlpool tub is a great addition to any bathroom remodel. The cost can range dramatically depending on the manufacturer and features however in most cases the value of your home will increase correspondingly.

The whirlpool tub does require some special considerations. To begin, the tub will normally require a location that allows access to the pump and heater. Some units do have removable panels or aprons for areas without other access. Also be prepared to install a dedicated 120-volt or 240-volt circuit with ground fault protection. This will require the services of a qualified electrician. In addition to electrical work, chances are you will need to relocate water supply lines and drain lines. This would require a Plano plumbing professional. It’s very unusual to find a jetted tub with the same specifications as a standard tub. Last if your current tub has a shower in it then it will probably require removal. The typical whirlpool tub does not lend itself aesthetically to a shower.

Tub installation options are varied. Some of the most common are corner units (space permitting) and drop in units with or without a side panel. Another decision is if you want a water jet type rather than an air jet tub. The water jet tub provides a much stronger massage and because the water is re-circulated it has a tendency to stay warmer longer without the use of a heater. The air jet tub has a softer massage and does allow the use of bath oils and bubbles.

After a tough day, there is no better way to unwind then with a hot bath in a whirlpool tub. A jetted bath tub in is no longer a luxury. For a free quote on what it would cost to have a one of our qualified Plano plumbers install your new tub, give us a call today.
